Prevention programmes for schools and kindergartens

The main aim of our prevention classes with a dog is to teach children how to come into safe contact with a dog and make them aware of dogs’ world. Children are invited into dogs’ world through various plays and games with four-legged friends. We do our best to make a contact with a dog safe for both dogs and children.

Why are our classes with a dog worth considering? Firstly, we have experience and knowledge we want to share with other people. The Education Office in Katowice has become interested in our prevention programmes that nowadays are held under its patronage.

Secondly, our programmes with a dog’s participation are well-prepared and have been carried out since 2010. Every year we teach around 10 000 children how to come into safe contact with a dog. Besides, our dogs are properly trained and children from the youngest to the oldest ones often remind our classes – there are lots of institutions that invite us regularly.

We will visit your institution with a pleasure. If you are interested, don’t hesistate to contact our centre.

A SAFE DOG – A SAFE CHILD

The aim of a prevention programme called “A SAFE DOG – A SAFE CHILD” is to make children at any age aware how to be a wise and responsible owner of a dog. Why is this programme worth considering? We often hear dogs are treated in a bad and irresponsible way. What is more, people generally find dogs guilty of biting any human being. The truth is that dogs talk with us and show us various signs they are to attack. Unfortunately, we can not understand these signs properly. That’s why, we want to sensitize the youngest to these issues. During classes children learn when we can’t approach a dog and how to react if a dog is to attack. What is more, they find out why a dog is to attack, what a dog’s body language is and how dogs can help people.

During the classes participants learn:
  • when they shouldn’t approach a dog
  • how to behave if a dog is to attack
  • what a dog’s body language is (the most important signs, such as fear, aggression, readiness to have fun)
  • how to play with a dog in a safe way, how to feed a dog properly
  • what roles a dog can play in a society (a rescuer, a police officer, a fire fighter, a therapist).
A dog takes part in the classes.
After the classes children get: A Diploma: “A Dog’s Friend”, short books of rules, stickers.

A HOME DOG – A FRIENDLY DOG

The aim of a prevention programme called “A HOME DOG – A FRIENDLY DOG” is to teach right attitudes towards dogs. Not only do we teach children we are resposible for dogs, we should respect and care of them, but also we make them aware of dogs’ needs and requirements. Due to all these actions a dog may get appropriate conditions and a life with a dog can be joyful and satisfied for both sides. Why is this programme worth considering? We often hear about abandoned animals, chained animals or animals living in bad conditions. We can never forget we are responsible for creatures we make friends with.

During the classes participants learn:
  • what dog’s needs we must meet
  • how to take care of a dog
  • what food can be eaten by a dog, and what we can’t feed a dog with
  • learn how to play with a dog in a amusing way for both sides
  • why we should clean dogs’ poop
  • what we can do during a walk.

After the classes children get: A Diploma: “A Dog’s Friend”, short books of rules, stickers.
